What We Do
Are You Eligible?
Animal Advisory delivers the missing elements for your organization's success.
We call it our "STRATEGIC CONSULTANCY" service. And it costs you nothing more than a little bit of your time. In order to help you, we ask you to help us first by providing us with the necessary information about your organization and its work. It's that simple.
Step One: Eligibility
Once we hear from your organization, we send you a brief PROFILE SHEET which, when completed, provides us with the needed information to determine if your organization meets our eligibility requirements (see Are You Eligible?).
Step Two: Our Agreement
If such requirements are met, we then proceed with an AGREEMENT which clearly outlines 1) the type of service we provide, 2) that there is no cost for such service, 3) that your organization (as well as its Board of Directors) holds us legally harmless vis-a-vis our findings and recommendations and 4) that any and all information we gather will be held confidential.
Step Three: Questionnaire
Once our agreement is in place, we send you a QUESTIONNAIRE that asks for varied information about your organization. We also request items such as financial statements, minutes of Board meetings, and organization charts.
Step Four: Site Visit
Next, we schedule a SITE VISIT based on mutually convenient dates. Visits are typically for one working week.
Once on-site, we interview founders, trustees/directors, and top management, and key volunteers and we also request additional documentation, as needed.
Step Five: Findings and Recommendations
Finally, we submit a REPORT OF FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS.
Through a synthesis of the information we collect from the questionnaire, various documents; and more importantly, the site visit, we evaluate your organization from Strategic, Managerial, Developmental (including Fund Raising) and Financial perspectives. (We may or may not look into Operations.)
Strategic: Mission Statement, Focus, Composition and Role of the Board of Trustees, and Goals & Objectives
Managerial: Organization Chart, Management Competence, Management Role, Controls, and Relationship between Management and the Board
Developmental: Fund Raising, Varied Development Activities and Data Base System
Financial: Budgeting, Financial Statements, and Management Reports
The foregoing is not set in stone. Depending on the status and size of each organization, we recognize that all of the above may not be relevant to your organization.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Our findings are not likely to be revelations as most organizations are aware of their inherent weaknesses. Many of the recommendations may also not be "eye openers"; many organizations are already aware of what needs to be done, by and large, to improve upon their eventual efficiencies.
The real value of working with Animal Advisory is that "an expert outsider looking in" will deliver an unbiased report: a cohesive document detailing all of our findings and recommendations.
